Now, didn't I tell you Saéricians love to be decorated in gold? ;3 Their military is no exception. This is another drawing I sketched back in 09, and just recently finished with the coloring. This is the armor Tatiana will be first seen in when she enters the fair with the king and queen. The combat armor, of course, will be different - this armor is just the typical Saérician of showing off. The sun and the phoenix are very sacred symbols in their religion, so I used that as the main motifs. If you notice around the lighter-yellow trims, there are eye patterns around, which are very often used in armor as to say 'Eall watches over me, he sees all.' The armor is very inspired by Indian and Persian armor, and again I use the hijab - which, by the way in this particular armor is not just limited to being worn by the women. The men also wear the same covering over their head. Another thing both genders would share is the eye liner. Whether it's the ceremonial armor or the combat one, both genders wear eye liner to make their eyes look more intimidating to their opponents.
I'm very happy with how the armor came out, as painstaking as it was to design (as just think about how many times this armor will be drawn throughout the comic! XD; ) I don't really feel much need to make any major changes, other than the shoes which feel a little out of place. Other than that, I just love this design. :D
